Getting Started with Unite Pro

Getting Started with Unite Pro

Unite Pro turns any website into a real, standalone Mac app. Instead of keeping Gmail, Notion, or ChatGPT buried in a browser tab, you get a native .app     in your dock — its own icon, its own window, its own keyboard shortcuts, and its own notifications. This article gives you an overview of what Unite Pro is, how it's organized, and where to go next.

What Unite Pro Does

When you create an app with Unite Pro, it builds an actual .app     bundle and saves it to your Applications folder (or wherever you choose). That app opens in its own window, independent of any browser. It remembers your session, supports tabs, can live in your menu bar, and gains native macOS capabilities like dock badges, notification center integration, and more.

You don't need any technical knowledge to use it. Paste a URL, pick an icon, choose how you want the app to behave, and Unite does the rest.

System Requirements

  • macOS 15 or later (macOS Tahoe recommended for the best experience)
  • Apple Silicon and Intel Macs both supported
  • No additional software required

Free vs. Pro

Unite Pro has a free tier that lets you create one app at no cost — a great way to try the experience before upgrading.

With Unite Pro activated, you get:

  • Unlimited apps
  • Export and import (.uniteconfig     backups)
  • Legacy migration (updating Unite 6 apps to Pro)
  • All future 1.x updates
  • Optional paid major updates in the future

You can activate Unite Pro with a direct license key (via Paddle) or through a Setapp subscription.

The Main Window

When you open Unite Pro, you'll see a two-panel window:

Sidebar (left)

The sidebar lists all the apps you've created. You can search, sort by Name, Date Added, or Last Used, and right-click any app for quick actions like Launch, Edit, Export, or Delete. The "New Application" button at the top starts the creation flow.

Main content area (right)

When nothing is selected, the home screen appears with a URL input field for quickly creating an app, plus a curated list of suggestions organized by category (productivity, AI, entertainment, etc.). When you select an app from the sidebar, its details and settings appear here.
