Using Dock Slices for Glanceable Information

Dock Slices, introduced in Unite 4, provide a fresh way to access quick, glanceable information from your Unite apps. They allow you to replace your dock icon with a live feed of a selected portion of your active site. This means, at a quick glance, you can monitor a part of a webpage right from your dock. Here's how to enable and use this feature:

How to Enable Dock Slices

1. Open your Unite application.
2. Navigate to 'File' on the menu bar.
3. Select 'Start Dock Monitor'. This action will activate a selection tool on your active site.

Selecting a Slice for Your Dock

1. With the dock monitor active, click and drag on your active window to highlight a portion of the webpage. The selected area will be your dock slice.
2. Once you're happy with your selection, simply click outside the boundary. Your dock icon will now show a live feed of the selected area.

You can continue to use your Unite app as normal with the dock monitor active.

Editing or Stopping Dock Slices

You can edit your dock slice selection or stop using Dock Slices altogether at any time. Simply return to the 'File' menu in your Unite application and adjust your settings as needed.
